How would you make the series more accessible?

Postby Raging Goji » July 29th, 2016, 7:12 pm

Obviously the devs are trying to make the game easier to play for new players with Power Crushes and Rage Arts, but in what ways would you make the game easier to play?

The only problem with Tekken is the clones. My suggestion to Namco is to give them mixed fighting styles. For example, take a look at TTT2, we have 3 capos. Keep Eddy as the original Capoeira, give some Tae Kwon Do to Christie (capoeira with more kicks) and Judo to Tiger Jackson (capoeira with more punches).

Judo emphasizes on throws and takedowns, not punches.

Whatever. It was just an example, if Namco wants to make them more unique.

I mean like, you're never taught punches in Judo. Like at all.

On another note though, one of Eddy's grabs pre-Tekken 5, looked somewhat like a Judo throw. It was one of the grabs done from the side. I don't remember what they named it though.

Ok replace Judo with Boxing from Steve. Capoeira with more punches for Tiger Jackson will make him more unique!

The Judo idea was better since I think it meshes better with Capoeira. Some of the takedowns in Capoeira resemble Judo throws, so adding Judo it self could accentuate the takedown aspect of Capoeira.

I don't see boxing meshing with Capoeira while having it still look like pure Capoeira. It's just gonna look like Capoeira with boxing lumped on it. Judo would mesh nearly seemlessly though. Taekwondo, I can kind of see meshing, but I'd give Christe more gymnastic influence to make her the more acrobatic capo, while Eddy can be a pure traditionalist.

Agree with Christie and more gymnastics, but what about Tiger Jackson? Tekken Tag Tournament 3 with 3 different capoeira fighting styles would be better than having exactly the same style in 3 different fighters. This is the best solution for the clones in my opinion, if Namco is too lazy and don't want/can't create new fighting styles.

Tiger Jackson can have more of the Judo, like I said. Eddy would be the traditionalist.
